Tucked away on Klauzál Street, in the heart of the Jewish Quarter, Dorado has long been a favourite of locals and visitors alike. This is the kind of place that doesn’t rush you out the door — no pressure to pay up and leave, no disapproving looks at your laptop. The staff will guide you through the menu and happily tweak your order (special thanks to them and their playlist).
The brunch menu is broad for a specialty café — the food here is very much its own thing, not just an afterthought to the coffee.
They close at 17:00, but only to reopen as wine bar LOLA. And that’s where the morning magic gives way to a languid evening aperitivo.
What’s surprising is that all of this is just two minutes from the most touristy stretch of the quarter — yet inside (and even at the outdoor tables) the vibe stays unhurried and genuinely pleasant.
The wine list and food menu are both concise, the staff are attentive, the lighting is dim. At the next table a bachelorette party was posing with digital cameras and bunches of dried flowers. In short, the atmosphere is absolutely worth it.
